Lunch with Gizzy Lyng

What a funny name. That was the first thing I thought when I first heard of Gizzy Lyng. Then I got to know him. His real name is Diarmuid.
A star player with Wexford Hurling team we had met many times on the field. He is good. Damn good. Left handed, quick, strong and most of all hungry.
Today I had the pleasure of meeting him and his brother Michael for lunch. We shared a great conversation about playing against one another and again I was reminded that we are all the same. Us humans. All the same.
We have the same wants and desires. We feel the same fears and anxieties.
Yes Gizzy Lyng is not only a super athlete, he is an inspiration to be around.
